Marlene E. Hoppe, 74, of Doniphan passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in Grand Island.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Services in Marlene’s honor will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedarview Cemetery in Doniphan.

All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Start Over Rover.

Marlene was born on May 23, 1947 in Omaha where she grew up with four sisters and brother. Marlene graduated from South Omaha High School. She attended UNL for one year.

On June 19, 1971 she married Glen Hoppe. The young couple was blessed with a daughter, Jana. They made their home in Hastings and settled in Doniphan.

She was employed with the Post Office for several years before beginning to work as a Paraeducator at the local schools. Marlene loved working with the kids and helping all kids learn. She was a Paraeducator for the school library and shared her love of reading with many children. Marlene enjoyed reading and more recently, listening to audible books.

She loved the color red and was a Husker Volley ball fan. Marlene researched family history and traced her family. Marlene loved dogs and made her house their home for many canines over the years. Marlene was blessed with her first grandchild, Qua’Lynn. Marlene cared for many children thru her time in education and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Glen of Doniphan; daughter, Jana Hoppe of Lincoln; grandson, Qua’Lynn Dorsey of Lincoln; brother, Harold; sisters, Betty, Carol, and Roberta; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jan.
