Marie V. (Hoppe) Powell, 76, a longtime resident of Bullhead City, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at her home. Marie was born October 2, 1939 at Gretna, Kan. to parents Fred and Emma (Outhet) Hoppe of rural Phillipsburg. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Agra High School in 1957. After graduation Marie moved to Omaha, Neb. and attended Business School.

On June 2, 1960 Marie was united in marriage to Virgil L. Powell of Gregory, South Dakota, in Omaha. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emma Hoppe; and her brother Fred Hoppe. She is survived by her husband, Virgil L. Powell, of Bullhead City, Ariz., daughters Meshelle (Arlin) Cooper of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Pam (John) Ware of Broadus, Montana; grandchildren Megan (Austin) Piechura of Broadus, Montana, and Dustin Brunke of Rapid City, SD; great-granddaughters Raelyn and Arya Piechura of Broadus, Montana; sister Marjorie Dahlgren of Shenandoah, IA; brother Ed Hoppe of Agra, and numerous nieces and nephews.

No service was planned. Cremains will be set free at The Ware Ranch in Montana with a family gathering.
