Travelled ten miles. We are four miles west of Fort Demoine in camp on Walnut Creek, the cattle are very tired. Fort Demoine is the Capitol of the State, situated on Demoine River, it contains about five thousand inhabitants. The country through here lays nice, this is a lime stone soil, timber enough, the creeks here run deep. We lost our two dogs in Fort Demoine. Demoine is by no means a pleasant situated city.
