After an illness of about two weeks, Mrs. Elmer T. Buss passed away Sunday at 2 p.m. Through life she was known to be a kind and loving wife and mother, and never lost an oppotunity to render assistance to those in distress, she was an ardent worker in the Congregational church and was loved by all. Though seriously ill from the first her death came as a severe shock the community will deeply feel her loss. The funeral services were held at the Buss home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, to which a large number of friends paid their last tribute. Short but impressive services were conducted by Rev. G. M. Griffiths, pastor of the Congregational church, after which the remains were taken to the Farnam cemetery for burial. Mary Malinda Thompson was born October 30th, 1861 near Des Moines, Iowa; she came to Nebraska with her parents when a child and has lived here every since. She was married to Elmer T. Buss June 22nd, 1887. To this union seven children were born, five of whom remain to mourn her loss and were present at the time she passed away. She died at the age of 54 years, five months and 18 days. |
